Notification on Internet Reproduction Specification

On April 22, 2015, National Copyright Administration of China issued the Notification on Internet Reproduction Specification regarding the Copyright. The notification required that the reproduction of a work through the internet media shall be approved by the copyright owner with the payment, indicating the owner’s name, the title and the origin. Magazines, shall abide by the principle of the statutory licensing, shall pay the copyright owner when reproducing a work. This does not apply to the internet media. In addition, the notification required that when reproducing the work, the substantive amendment is forbidden and any amendment or deletion to the work and content shall not distort or mutilate its original meaning.
